International Awards

We are looking forward to this years International School Awards held in London’s Grand Connaught Rooms, Covent Garden. The awards, open for the fiist time to international schools around the world, celebrate some of the best practices, achievements and initiatives in learning, teaching, wellbeing, leadership, use of technology, pastoral support, community impact, inclusion, pathway support, and international impact. There will be 12 categories in total with and one overall winner claiming the prestigious International School of the Year award.

As media partners we will produce the official event film, to be packaged, distributed and published across various platforms. The International School Leader Magazine which hosts the awards in collaboration with ISC Research, will be featuring the award-winning initiatives throughout its issues in 2019.

Filming in Spain

In cooperation with our partner agency EduKomm, we have travelled to Spain recently to shoot plenty of promotional material for an educational organisation. The International School is based in Barcelona and offers the British curriculum. In support of their expansion plans, we filmed their old and new campuses and some of the great programmes they have on offer, such as the UNICEF rights respecting project and the Forest School. Of course, inevitable in Barcelona, filming on the beach was also part of the shooting plan.

Adding meaning to learning

Our latest promotional film covered the ambitious project 'Positive Education' which is based on Positive Psychology and the research of Martin Seligman and his team from the University of Pennsylvania. The focus here is on teaching well-being - meaning, purpose, character strengths and resilience -  in addition to the academic and social skills schools usually try to develop in students. The Berlin Brandenburg International School is the first school in Germany to integrate the challenging programme into the school curriculum. A truely inspiring project to promote.

Le Tour de France

For cycling fans, the Tour de France is easily comparable to the FIFA World Cup - steeped in history, full of great drama and surprises delivered by the best riders in the world. After developing a content and localisation strategy for Eurosports 'Home of Cycling', shooting has now started with some of the big names and favourites of this year's tour. Using the 'behind the scenes' approach during the filming, the pan-european broadcaster will air a documentary, digital shorts and cross-platform content before and during the tour.

Hoop Dreams

We had the pleasure of shooting with one of Germany's biggest basketball talents, Maodo Lo, who was born and raised in Berlin. In 2009, Maodo started his career as an amateur with the Central Hoops Berlin in a regional league before moving to the USA on a scholarship. Maodo was re-discovered when he played college basketball for Columbia University, New York and was eventually signed by Brose Bamberg in 2016. So far, the guard has won two Bundesliga titles with his club and with the national team he represented Germany at two European Championships.

Over the last couple of years, MS PRODUCTIONS has been successfully planning and delivering video content and content strategies for educational organisations. We have now started a cooperation with an IB School from Frankfurt to produce a series of short promotional films highlighting different aspects of their educational offerings. Prior to the filming a concept was created, built on the strength and uniqueness of the school and a competitor analysis. The first three films have been shot and post-production is in full swing.

The Pyeongchang Winter Olympics are over - and for the first time in Olympic history, a single broadcaster has delivered the games in 21 languages across 48 European countries. The winter games have reached more screens and more viewers in Europe than any Olympics before - with 4.5 billion videos views, 1.7b.hours of video consumption and 386 million users alone across Discovery-owned or operated digital platforms. We are very proud to have been part of Discovery/Eurosport's pan-European production team, coordinating and producing content from Korea onsite, the Paris headquarter and several local production hubs across Europe - and presenting the Olympics to a younger audience with a fresh look and feel. Promoting Berlin start-up

Over the last few years, Berlin has developed into a hotbed for start-ups. According to latest statistics, 500 new tech companies set up shop in the German capital per year. Besides affordable workspace and good funding networks, Berlin is also a breeding ground for creative talent and ideas. We have filmed at Zalvus, a promising new company specialising in on-line recruitment & digital headhunting. Zalvus is mixing online marketing technologies with big data analytics - a concept that surely will be essential for any company competing on today's job market.

Liverpool - Eddie, The Beatles and Football

Shooting continued for our 5part docu series THE UNTOLD STORY. In October, we spent a couple of days in Liverpool where we filmed scenes with our main protagonist Kamil Stoch and his wife Ewa visiting the Beatles and Anfield, home to the mighty Liverpool FC. We also paid a visit to a Liverpool FC supported community school and we talked about Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards - the UK's infamous ski jumper of all time. The series will air across the Discovery and Eurosport networks from November 16th. Repeats are scheduled for January.

With just over 100 days to go to the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang 2018, we started to film with various athlets for the preview series MyOlympics. The series revisits the biggest moments in Olympic history and is told through the eyes of the champions. The programmes will be broadcast on Discovery's linear channels and across digital platforms.

Summer, Sun & Sailing Clubs

We used the warm summer months to film two promotional films. The first shoot took place right on our doorstep on lake Wannsee, where we filmed scenes around the Wassersport Club Berlin. The neat sailing and surf club is a perfect spot to relax and to escape the big city. The second project brought us further north where we promoted The Fährhaus - a unique Hotel, Yachtclub and Restaurant. The magical place is located close to Schleswig and offers exclusive accommodation and some of the best local dishes imaginable.

Shooting has started in Zakopane for the first major local Olympic production commissioned by the Discovery Channel. The five episodes feature the double Olympic gold winner and ski jumping hero Kamil Stoch and his meticulous preparation for the upcoming Winter Games in PyeongChang 2018. The series will be aired on Discovery's Eurosport across Europe from November 2017 on.

Technology Conference in Berlin

The Faria Education Group is based in San Francisco and provides software solutions and learning management systems for the educational sector. They work with over 2000 institutions and schools worldwide. In March, their third UserConference in Europe took place in Berlin and brought together technology experts and educators from 35 countries and 80 schools. We produced a short promotional film to document the event.

Berlin Tourismus Messe

With 80 exhibitors and around 12,000 visitors, the Berlin Tourismus Messe is one of the smaller fairs in Germany but offers a unique concept. Over two days, the event connects exhibitors, national and local travel providers directly with customers who can inform themselves and book their next holidays on the spot. Free city tours, multimedia presentations and live performances from musicians round up the programme.

South Korea Site Visit

With just one year to go before the Winter Olympics 2018 kick off in South Korea, we had a chance to experience first hand how fast progress has been made in the host city Pyeongchang. All venues, most of them ready to go or close to be finished, are situated within the scenic settings of the Pyeongchang mountain cluster or the Gangneung coastal region. As part of the Discovery Channel delegation, we looked at sites and venues to firm up production plans and logistics. Discovery and Eurosport will deliver more coverage of the Olympics across more screens than ever before - on free to air, pay TV and on mobile devices.

Promo Shoot Women's EURO 2017

Shooting a promo can be challenging as the production schedule is tight and the expectation to get high-end content in a shortage of time is usually high. Our recent shoot involved several star players representing 7 different countries all expected to do well at the up-coming European Championships 2017. Despite the tight schedule, the shoot turned out to be a very enjoyable experience as we had the full cooperation from a great bunch of good humoured professionals. Hopefully the result will reflect the good vibes on the set. The UEFA Women's Euro will take place in the Netherlands in July and August.

Discovery Communications, the world’s leading pay-TV programmer reaching nearly 3 billion subscribers in more than 220 countries, acquired full ownership of Eurosport last year. The company also won the TV and multiplatform rights for the Olympic Games from 2018 to 2024, transforming Eurosport into the home of Olympic sports all year round. We have now started to work with the broadcaster on content development and strategies for different platforms and markets - and are excited to be part of one of the most ambitious projects today in the media industry.

Hailed as a landmark publication worldwide, the book 'Making Thinking Visible' offers solutions to establish the culture of learning and thinking amongst organisations or projects. We had the chance to film with co-author Mark Church, also a consultant at Harvard's Project Zero, and to produce a promotional film around one of his workshops he conducted recently in Berlin. Marks first reaction to the film: 'I really like this. I think you've captured in a nut shell the experience we were hoping for. Great work!'

Promoting the Berlin Congress Center

The bcc Berlin Congress Center, right in the heart of the German capital, is one of the most unique exhibition centres around. During the shoot, our crew found it easy to bring the best out of the 30 event rooms and the 3,000 sqm of exhibition space. With plenty of light breaking through the huge glas windows, an inspiring architecture offering great angles, shapes and lots of space across three levels, the BCC is a great place to visit - not just for camera crews. We will be back at the BCC for the upcoming Berlin Tourismus Messe in February.
